•The wavelet moment method has been proposed and evaluated for HPLC-PAD.•Wavelet moment could defuse the overlapping and shifts of peaks and noise signals.•This method has been applied on the quantitative analysis of HPLC-PAD successfully.•The proposed method was fast, robust and accurate.
