Drug and Alcohol Dependence(2015)
Abstract
•The trends in the incidence of dual diagnosis (DD) of severe mental illness and substance-related disorders (drugs, alcohol and drugs/alcohol, separately) were analyzed among inpatients in all Israeli psychiatric settings over the 1996–2010 period.•Over the study period, DD with drugs decreased, whereas DD with alcohol and DD with drugs/alcohol substantially increased.•The clinical-demographic variables (diagnosis of psychosis, immigrant status, male gender and) differentially predicted DD with alcohol and DD with drugs.
