摘要
The phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt/mTOR pathway is activated in human Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) lesions (1,2) . Sirolimus, an mTORC1 inhibitor, was effective in preclinical models of KS (1) and is considered as the standard for care in post-transplantation KS(2-4) . We aimed to investigate in a phase II study if everolimus, another mTORC1 inhibitor already approved in transplantation and oncology, would be a possible alternative treatment in classic or endemic KS.
