摘要
Programming languages change over time. New features are added, others are deprecated, and sometimes even the basic syntax and semantics of the core language change. When changes happen to languages in common use in the introductory computer science curriculum, it can be very disquieting. Should courses be updated? Should topics be removed to make room for new features? Is responding to programming language/library changes contradictory to the basic goals of a course? What are the goals of an introductory CS course?
