Electrical and thermal studies of the high temperature phase transitions of (NH4)2SO4 crystals

Abstract Anomalous behaviour of electrical quantities is observed in ammonium-sulphate single crystals giving rise to a possible phase transition at 416 K. The DSC measurements also supported these results suggesting another possible phase transition at 508 K just before the crystal start to decompose. The decomposition onset temperature was 538.5 K which makes the study of this phase transition a bit difficult.
