Charting thermal emission variability at Amirani with the Galileo NIMS Io Thermal Emission Database (NITED)

摘要
•We have quantified thermal emission variability from Amirani using Galileo NIMS data.•We show how spacecraft range affects the Amirani region’s apparent thermal emission.•Galileo NIMS observations of Amirani suggest persistent magma supply to the surface.•The average emitted total power from discrete eruption centers is ∼170±30GW.•This power output implies silicate (basalt) lava effusion rates of ∼34 to ∼56m3/s.
