Guideline recommendations from the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) for the optimal utilization of oral antiplatelet therapy in acute coronary syndromes (ACS) may be limited by the interpretation and delayed clinical implementation of the results of key dual (ASA + ADP receptor inhibitor) oral antiplatelet therapy trials. Thus, phase I of the Canadian ACS Reflective included a contemporary, national hospital chart audit aimed at describing the characteristics, interventions, admission and discharge therapies in a contemporary ACS population.
