53. Knowledge, Attitude and Skills Related to Adolescent Sexual Health Education and Counseling among Pediatric Nurses in Hong Kong

Adolescents in Hong Kong are becoming more sexually active and premarital sex, STDs and teenage pregnancies are increasing. Studies show that adolescents have poor knowledge about contraception, safe sex practices and are particularly vulnerable to STD's. Pediatric nurses are in a key position to promote adolescent health in Hong Kong, but studies have reported that they do not have adequate knowledge and skills about sexual health and cannot advise patients properly. The objective of this study was to investigate the knowledge, attitude and practices of pediatric nurses in Hong Kong towards adolescent sexual health issues.
