Nano Frictional Properties of Polystyrene Sulfonate Brushes in Water

摘要
We investigated nano-frictional properties of sodium polystyrene sulfonate (NaPSS) brushes in water by Friction Force Microscopy (FFM). The polyelectrolyte brushes were prepared on silicon wafers by "grafting to" method. Sliding speed and load dependence of the nano-friction on the NaPSS brush in water revealed a significantly low friction value that weakly varies with both parameters. Furthermore, high in-plane homogeneity in the frictional properties was indicated.
