摘要

•Stainless steel and PET surfaces were modified using the same chemical pathway.•Hydrophobic surfaces were prepared by polydopamine coating and fluorination reaction.•The wetting properties of the surfaces were studied using the Young–Van Oss theory.•Fluorinated stainless steel surfaces are antiadhesive towards Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
