The Application of Holistic Logic to Business Management
International Journal of Continuing Engineering Education and Life-Long Learning(1995)
摘要
There is an overwhelming need for managers to apply and practice holistic logic in order to compete with global firms. Holistic logic amplifies a philosophy that the meaning of each part is to be found in its implicit reflection of the whole of the organisation; it has no meaning exclusive of the whole. In application it is a Japanese management technique with a top–down approach that has a major concern for people and draws powerfully from its human resource potential. The holistic approach is subjective in nature and right–brain oriented. Companies should effectively use all resources in all departments to achieve improved effectiveness. It can be applied to differing types of business concerns. Barriers to application can be expected such as: (1) half–way implementation, (2) organisational departmentalism, (3) managerial reluctance, and (4) industrial peer pressure. Holistic logic provides flexibility and hope for leadership in the dawning of a new century of astonishingly rapid change.
