Laser stabilization system for space application based on hydroxide-catalysis bonding

A prototype of laser stabilization system for the application of inter-satellite laser ranging has been constructed. A quasi-monolithic optical bench including the cavity and the mode-matching coupling optics is fabricated with ultra-low expansion (ULE) glass by hydroxide-catalysis bonding technique. Nd:YAG solid-state laser is frequency stabilized to the quasi-monolithic cavity via Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) method with all fiber devices. A digital feedback controller based on FPGA is developed with sufficient control bandwidth. The preliminary testing results is discussed in this report.
