摘要
This paper describes a few fundamental challenges that biological complexity imposes on the design of NoC-based multicore platforms as enablers for a cyber-physical system approach to precise personalized medicine. To demonstrate this CPS paradigm for precise and personalized medicine we consider two examples: i) an efficient NoC-based multi core platform that exploits a self-organizing mapping and routing strategy for achieving higher performance when analyzing the protein folding; ii) a precise and personalized control algorithm for regulating biological processes that display non-Gaussian and multi-fractal dynamics. The paper highlights a series of challenges and advocates for a new breed of design and optimization methodologies for NoC-based multicores.
