摘要
Cellular therapy is an increasingly important therapeutic modality for repairing damaged or destroyed cells or tissues. In hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), stem cells are introduced to repopulate the destroyed hematopoietic system after lethal chemoradiotherapy. Moreover, donor lymphocyte infusion was successfully introduced in the 1990s to cure patients suffering from disease relapse after HSCT. Extensive progress in the field of hematopoietic and nonhematopoietic stem cell biology has helped to establish cellular therapy as a new therapeutic option for tissue repair, tissue replacement, and immune modulation.
