Comments on: A New Trace Bound for a General Square Matrix Product. Authors' reply

Theorem 2 of the recent paper [1] presents a trace bound on the solution to the algebraic Riccati equation. In this note we point out that the proof contains contradictory assumptions, and hence the result is invalid.
