Herein we report the electrochemical properties of lithiated 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetraol formaldehyde polymer, an organic polymer for use as positive electrodes in Li-ion batteries. The 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetraol formaldehyde polymer can be chemically lithiated, cycle stably to 4.2 V, and has a reversible capacity of 60 mAh/g. (c) 2010 The Electrochemical Society.
