摘要

•A new mixed crystals of Yb:Y0.78Lu0.22VO4 was grown by Czochralski method.•Yb:Y0.78Lu0.22VO4 possess the tetragonal zircon structure (space group I41/amd).•The peak of the absorption spectrum for π-polarization appears at 983nm.•The σ-polarization absorption spectrum has a very broad band with an FWHM of 44nm.
