Calcium Load of the Aortic Annulus Quantified by Computed Tomography Predicts the Occurrence of Conduction Disturbances and Residual Aortic Regurgitation in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation

Objectives: The need of postoperative pacemaker (PM) implantation due to conduction disturbances and the occurrence of residual aortic regurgitation (AR) after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) remain unsolved problems because reliable predictive factors have not yet been identified. The aim of this analysis was to investigate whether the calcium load of the aortic valve leaflets and aortic annulus has an impact on above mentioned complications.
