Complete genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. strain CFMR 7, a natural rubber degrading actinomycete isolated from Penang, Malaysia

•The genome of this strain was sequenced using Pacific Biosciences’ single molecule sequencing technology (SMRT) yielding ∼147×coverage.•The de novo assembly was carried out using Hierarchical Genome Assembly Process (HGAP) workflow including consensus polishing with Quiver as available in SMRT® Analysis v 2.3.•The sequencing and assembly resulted in 2 contigs with total genome size of 8.248Mb.•The assembled genome was annotated using Rapid Annotation using Subsystem Technology (RAST) version 2.0.•The complete genome sequence of this strain was deposited in GenBank and the accession numbers were added.
