摘要

•YVO4:Eu3+@SiO2 nanocomposites were prepared by a reverse microemulsion method.•Naked YVO4:Eu3+ NPs and YVO4:Eu3+@SiO2 nanocomposites both emit bright red light under UV irradiation.•With the increase of the SiO2 shell thickness, the excitation and emission intensities become weaker.
