Agroeconomic evaluation of intercropping rocket and carrot by uni- and multivariate analyses in a semi-arid region of Brazil

•The emergence of new vegetable cultivars on the market in northeastern Brazil.•The availability of information and comparative data on the behavior of these cultivars in intercropped agroecosystems is important.•The combination of these materials can provide good interspecific combining ability and consequently higher production and bioagroeconomic efficiency.•A set of efficient indicators are needed for expressing the competition in, and the bioagroeconomic efficiency of, combinations of cultivars in intercropping.•Methods of uni- and/or multivariate analysis of these indicators or indices are used to indicate the superiority of combinations of cultivars.
