The Eye Response Test Alone is Sufficient to Predict Stroke Outcome: Re-Introduction of Japan Coma Scale (P01.223)

OBJECTIVE: Prompt assessment of consciousness level is vitally important during the emergency care. Requirements for a better scale include simplicity, applicability and predictability. The Japan Coma Scale (JCS) is a one dimensional coma scale consisting of an eye response test. The hypothesis is that the JCS is sufficient to predict for the stroke outcome. The aim of the study is to verify the applicability and predictability of the JCS.
