Supercritical and high pressure subcritical fluid extraction from Lemon balm ( Melissa officinalis L., Lamiaceae)

•Extraction of Lemon balm by two-step fractional subcritical and supercritical extraction was examined.•Hydrodistillation of Lemon balm was performed by Clevenger standard method.•Analysis of yield and composition profile of balm extract obtained by hydrodistillation and two-step SFE extraction was performed.•The pseudo kinetic model was applied to define the relation between the yield of Lemon balm extracts and CO2 consumption.•The free radical scavenging capacity (RSC) of obtained extracts was measured and their antioxidant activity was determined.
