Synthesis and Characterisation of Some New Monophenylarsenic(Iii) Derivatives of Methyl 4(4-Substituted Phenyl)-2-Oxy-4-Oxo-2-Butenoates

Monophenylarsenic(III) derivatives of methyl 4(4-substituted phenyl)-2-oxy-4oxo-2-butenoates of the type PhAs-[OC(COOCH3)=CHCOC6H4-X-p](2) and PhAs[OC(COOCH3)=CHCOC6H4-X-p]Cl (where X = H, Br, Cl and CH3) have been synthesised. The newly synthesised compounds have been characterised on the basis of elemental analyses, molecular weight measurements, IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectral studies.
