Abstract
Sediment particles, especially quartz which has very high hardness factor, flowing along with water erodes turbo machinery parts such as guide vanes, runner, draft tube etc. Among them runner is very crucial part, so its design should be optimum for minimum erosion by maintaining the highest possible efficiency.
