摘要
Historically, substantial emphasis on preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAI) has been placed on hospitals and long-term care facilities. However, HAIs occur in Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs), and are occurring with increasing frequency, especially as more surgical procedures are being performed outside of the hospital setting. As such, many ASCs and their respective clinicians need to ensure that they have adequate knowledge and training to implement evidence-based practices to prevent HAIs in their facilities.
