Panel Discussion: Teaching Ethics in the Information Technology Curriculum.

ABSTRACTAs ethical scandals erupt in information technology [1][2], calls to teach ethical behavior increase. Both the 2008 IT curriculum guidelines [3] and the ABET computing accreditation criteria [4] as well as the AACSB curriculum criteria [5] include teaching ethical decision making to computing students. The proposed IT2017 curriculum guidelines include ethics under "Professional Practice / Social Responsibility" [6]. Each of the three panelists has been responsible for incorporating ethics in the curricula of their respective institutions, but it has been done in a variety of ways.
