Almost Blank Subframes Versus Partially Shared Deployment In Heterogeneous Networks

Radio resource allocation (RA) in heterogeneous networks (HetNets) is an important problem. In this paper, we focus on two RA schemes proposed in the literature for future HetNets: almost blank subframes (ABS) and partially shared deployment (PSD). Through extensive analysis and simulations, we show that PSD outperforms ABS on many fronts across different a-fairness criteria and traffic scenarios.
