Emergency data dissemination using multi-point relays

In the last decades, natural disasters and terrorist attacks have been constantly challenging the emergency response systems all over the world. In order to coordinate field operations emergency response teams should use reliable network communication system. Some radios used to communicate in these scenarios use low frequency in order to be easily adaptable to different scenarios. These have limited bandwidth and, as so, require an efficient data dissemination strategy in order to provide field operatives with up-to-date picture of the operation underway. In this paper a new dissemination strategy, supported on the multi-point relay approach, is used to provide reliable and near real time dissemination of information.
