摘要
Technological innovation is coming to the power systems at a pace at which the industry is unaccustomed. These innovations have already begun and they are likely to continue to permeate all portions of the system. In particular, it is imminent the need to develop ancillary services to support the distribution network to maintain reliable operations of the interconnected power system. Here, we characterize parking areas (PAs) for PEVs in terms of potential capacity for ancillary services. Therefore, aggregators are able to identify their potential resources and place bids for the electricity market. We estimate the V2G capacity of eight different PAs by using a stochastic method: two performance indices are defined for the parking area and a greedy algorithm performs the PEV charging/discharging scheduling. In the case study, we test the effectiveness of the PAs by simulating a peak shaving request from the system operator.
