•We propose an efficient and robust intersection algorithm of disk B-spline curve, which is a problem rarely discussed by former researchers.•Innovative disk Bézier clipping method is proposed to compute intersections of DBSCs roughly.•Newton’s method is extended to compute the intersections of DBSCs accurately.
