Power flow problems with nested information: An approach based on fuzzy numbers and possibility theory

•We propose a formulation of a fuzzy AC power flow based on possibility theory.•We propose a new representation of the uncertainty in case of nested information of electrical parameter measured.•The Newton–Raphson’s method is used for solving simultaneous nonlinear equations with fuzzy numbers.•The obtained results allow keeping a good balance between low computational burden and accuracy of the results.
