Ejectable Loop Recorders?

A 69-year-old man with atrial fibrillation was implanted with a Reveal LINQ (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN) injectable loop recorder (ILR) before pulmonary vein isolation for the assessment of atrial fibrillation burden (Figure 1A). Recovery after implantation was unremarkable. Ten weeks after implantation, and 4 weeks after ablation, the patient activator, which had no difficulty with daily communication with the LINQ device, suddenly ceased communicating and the MyCarelink home monitor abruptly stopped transmitting scheduled daily reports.
