Residential proximity to traffic and female pubertal development.

•We assessed associations of traffic-related air pollution and altered puberty.•Proximity to traffic was used as a marker of traffic-related air pollution exposure.•Higher traffic exposure was associated with earlier onset of one pubertal milestone.•Results should be expanded in larger studies and with measured levels of pollutants.
