Evaluation of a new random-access HBV DNA molecular assay: The VERIS HBV assay

•The evaluation of the VERIS random-access system for HBV quantification showed that the assay is sensitive, specific, and precise for HBV DNA detection and quantification; that the results are reproducible; and that its broad dynamic range of quantification is well suited to HBV DNA monitoring in the clinical setting.•This approach may represent a powerful tool that will make it possible to diagnose and monitor HBV infections, possibly in an emergency context such as that of organ, tissue and cell donor screening prior to transplantation.
