摘要

•36.84% women with common gynecological ailments harbored HPV infection.•Of 6.4% abnormal cytology, 46.51% were HPV infected, of which, 95% were HPV16/18.•36.09% women with normal cytology were HPV infected, of which, 77.97% were HPV16/18.•Irrespective of cytology, HPV16 was high among OCP users and HPV18 among Muslims.•Distinct age-specific HPV16/18 prevalence patterns among the Hindus and the Muslims.
