Cauda equina syndrome during pregnancy: A condition to consider.

•Low back pain is frequent during pregnancy but rare symptoms as saddle hypoesthesia or acute bladder dysfunction maybe the first warning shot of a cauda equine syndrome.•Cauda equina syndrome (CES) gives rise to a wide spectrum of disorders related with urologic dysfunctions, what entails unpainful urinary retention and overflow incontinence.•When CES is suspected, MRI is the main diagnosis probe even during pregnancy. MRI may not be delayed because early surgery has shown a better improvement when CES is confirmed.
