摘要
Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) or Wireless Access in a Vehicular Environment (WAVE) refers to a set of emerging standards for Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET). DSRC/WAVE supports vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). IEEE 802.11p designed as the basic model protocol for DSRC, and can be used to support safety and no safety applications. IEEE 802.11p is more suited to the WAVE by facilitating low latency, high data rate, and high mobility communications. In this paper, we study and analyze the performance of IEEE 802.11p MAC protocol versus IEEE 802.16e designed to support high mobility, to evaluate the performance metrics such as throughput and packet drop rates, by using NCTUns simulator tools, for infrastructure to vehicle communication (I2V) in the highway case.
