Follow-up Observation of 48 Cases of AAI Pacing

Methods:Since January 1993 to December 1998,48 patients with sick sinus syndrome had received atrial pacing-atrial sensin-inhibited (AAI) pacing system. In them,30 patients had sinus bradycardia and sinus arrest,and 18 patients had bra-dy-tachycardia syndrome.Results:Follow up 6 to 61 months (mean 25 months) all patients had improvement in clinical symptom,only 1 case had lead displacement in early phase and 1 case had Ⅱ°atrioventricular block. Conclusion:AAI pacemaker has advantages of simplicity and reliability, which can prevent the occurrence of proximal atrial fibrillation and avoid complication of pacemaker syndrome. AAI pacemaker is a better physiological pacing instrument.
