Research On The Engine Room Collaborative Simulation Training And Intelligent Assessment

In this paper, we researched the intelligent assessment for engine-room resource management (ERM), which became the mandatory requirement for seafarers' competency assessment and aimed at preventing the accidents caused by human error in the maritime industry. Due to the shortcoming of the traditional simulator, a computer supported collaborative training (CSCT) method is proposed, and the engine-room simulator is redesigned and improved by using virtual reality technology. We proposed the intelligent assessment based on expert system, a fuzzy comprehensive assessment method based on entropy weight (FCA-EW) and the scoring algorithms. The new method and the improved simulator can provide more realistic and efficient training for ERM and meet the requirements of the navigation safety more effectively.
