Novel improved three-level Z-source inverter

AbstractThis paper deals with the topological analysis of a novel improved three-level Z-source inverter. By connecting a Z-source network to the rear end of the existing three-level inverter, it produces boosted voltage output with reduced Z-source capacitor voltage and limited inductor inrush current. Simulations are carried out using simple boost switching scheme in Matlab/Simulink environment. Laboratory prototype is made to illustrate its performance.
