Dual polarized dielectric resonator antenna for WLAN application

This paper presents a dual polarized dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for WLAN application with high isolation, low cross-polarization and identical frequency and pattern characteristic of the two polarizations. Two orthogonal modes inside a rectangular dielectric resonator and excitation by two same feeding structures are utilized to achieve dual polarization. Over the operating bandwidth, the isolation between two ports is better than 30 dB and the realized gain is larger than 6dBi and the cross polarization is less than -30dB for each polarization.
