Cefepime-induced encephalopathy in end-stage renal disease patients

•Cefepime-induced encephalopathy was assessed in end-stage renal disease patients.•Encephalopathy occurred in 7.5% (5/67) and in whichever dose of 0.5g/day or 1g/day.•Prior brain comorbidity may be associated with development of the encephalopathy.•Future investigation of safe dose-reduction strategy is required in these patients.
