Changes of temperature during pulse charging of lead acid battery cell in a flooded state

•Temperature changes are affected mostly by ohmic and polarization loses.•At the end of discharging temperature rises due to the increase in inner resistance.•At the end of the charging due to the increase in polarization resistance.•The standing intervals during pulse charging reduce temperature rise of the cell.
