摘要

•We first report the flux growth of large-sized and high-quality single crystals of Cu3Nb2O8.•Specific heat measurement on the single crystals demonstrates two magnetic ordering states below 26.2K and 24.5K and the absence of a possible phase transition in the vicinity of 60K as reported previously.•Magnetic anisotropies have been studied along different crystallographic axes.
