The manufacture of organic carbonate-poly(methyl ethylacrylate) nanowebs with thermal buffering effect

•Organic carbonates were synthesized from fatty alcohols as nontoxic solid-liquid PCMs.•Organic carbonate-PMEA nanowebs were manufactured by coaxial electrospinning.•The nanowebs absorb and release 40–100Jg−1 heat between −20 and 52°C.•The nanowebs have potential for the packaging of temperature sensitive materials.
