Experimental and modelling study of partial oxidation of ethanol in a micro-reactor using gold nanoparticles as the catalyst

•Gold nanoparticles were implemented in a gas phase microreactor.•A large set of experimental data was successfully collected.•Gold was an active catalyst in the partial oxidation of ethanol.•An advanced dynamic model was developed and it described well the microreactor system.
