•New gravity anomaly maps of Taiwan and its neighboring region were obtained.•A significant gravity discontinuity feature reveals on the latitude of 21°20′N.•The NE-SW trending cross-back-arc volcanic trail (CBVT) marks the low-high gravity anomaly boundary.
