A novel flexible pressure sensor array for depth information of radial artery

•A novel flexible pressure sensor array could be adapted to wrists of different people and obtain depth information of radial artery pulse wave under a wide range of static pressures.•The compound pressure sensor could measure radial artery pulse wave based on separation of the sensor for acquiring pulse waves and the sensor for measuring corresponding static pressures.•The compound pressure sensor is designed to prevent inverted pulse wave and the sensor array has anti-vibration function.•The repeatability of the compound pressure sensor, the validation of anti-vibration function, and the effectiveness of collecting pulse waves from multi-points of wrist under a wide range of static pressure are verified by experiments.
