摘要
Background European guidelines recommend lifestyle modification and evidence-based drugs to control risk factors in coronary heart disease (CHD). Purpose To evaluate the use of guideline-recommended drugs at discharge for ACS or in the chronic phase for CHD. Methods Patients with an ACS ( n  = 3867) or stable CHD ( n  = 6794) were enrolled in the observational cross-sectional DYSIS II study, conducted from 2012 to 2014 in 21 countries in Asia-Pacific, Europe and Middle East/Africa. Results Patients with an incident ACS were younger and more likely to be current smokers than recurrent ACS or CHD patients ( Table 1 ). Sedentary lifestyle was common in all groups and a sizable percentage was obese; cardiac rehabilitation was infrequent in ACS, particularly in recurrent ACS. A small percentage of ACS patients were not receiving anti-platelet or statin therapy. Rates of all secondary prevention medications were lower among CHD patients. Conclusions The results from this observational study illustrate areas for improvement, both in lifestyle variables and in use of secondary prevention medications, particularly in stable CHD.
